Everything can be taken from a man but one thing: the last of the human freedoms - to choose one's attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one's own way.

What is Art Therapy?

Art therapy is an integrative form of therapy that does not require any visual arts skills. It provides a creative experience that encourages self-reflection and enables nonverbal self-expression through a variety of forms and materials. Through imagery, shaping, and engagement with materials, individuals develop sensory awareness and perception in relation to their lived experiences. The artwork they create becomes the primary medium of communication within the therapeutic process.

Why Art Therapy?

To express oneself differently when words are not enough to describe how one feels.

To support the process of grief.

To develop a new perception of oneself and one’s life experiences.

To soothe anxiety and feel relieved.

An art therapy session involves creating in a free and safe space.
It is about reconnecting with one’s sensations and returning to the present moment.
It is about welcoming one’s experiences with kindness and compassion.

How Does a Session Work?

An art therapy session is structured into three phases, with the creative phase being the longest.

Who am I ?

My name is Lara Manzini

I am a certified art therapist (HES), and a member of the RME and ARAET. I support individuals who face psychological, physical or social challenges that call for a language beyond words.

The Nuances Divergentes practice offers a space for self-exploration through art to overcome those challenges.
